Facts relating to migration


  • The top ten most populous countries (in millions): China 1379.3; India 1281.93; United States 326.63; Indonesia 260.58; Brazil 207.35; Pakistan 204.92; Nigeria 190.63; Bangladesh 157.83; Russia 142.26; Japan 126.45;
    • The most populous countries in the world are important in relation to our studies of population because it can show us the countries that are beginning to develop. When a country begins to develop there population starts to increase. These countries are ones with high population, the united states included. This fact shows us that these countries are developing into post-industrialization or have already reached post industrialization. I find this interesting because United states was one of these and i thought it would be all African and Asian countries. In conclusion this fact is important because it shows us one characteristic of a post industrialized country.
  • Population growth rate of the world: 1.05% (2018 est.)
    • This shows us how fast that the worlds population is increasing. This shows us how the GDP PPP will be effected. It can show how the amount of money a person earns will increase or decrease. If the growth rate is very high then the amount of money per person will decrease bringing the world down on the healthy wealthy scale. I find this interesting because the percentage is so low but because are pop. is high the real number percentage is high. In conclusion this fact is important because it can help determine is our world is gong to lower, as a whole, in wealth. With out money we will not be able to build hospitals or pay doctors and nurses, that will bring our health down as well. 
  • Birth rate of the world:18.2 births/1,000 population (2018 est.)                                                    Death rate or the world:7.7 deaths/1,000 population (2018 est.)
    • The birth and death rate of the world shows that the population is increasing, not decreasing. Sense there are more births then death we have a positive rate on natural increase. This shows that our population will continue to increase and the world could soon become overpopulated. This indicates that the countries in the lowest stages of development could get sicker and less wealthy because they need to spread the money around. They could not have as much money to spend on doctors or medical assistance of any kind causing then to become sicker. I find this fact interesting because the death rate seems so low, but when you think about it their is so many thousands in the world so the number is actually extremely high. In conclusion this fact is important because it displays the negative effects on the less developed countries that population increase could have.
  • Syria has the highest net migration rate at 57 migrant(s)/1,000 population NA (2018 est.)
    • This fact relates to our studies of migration because it shows what country has the most push forces and least pull forces. Syria is currently in a war and they have very little gender equality laws. They have big push forces that impact every moment of your life with little benefits of living in that country. They might have freedom of religion, but their are groups of different religion who have been said to attack and sometimes kill members of other religious groups. This fact interests me because this is the country that i predicted would have the highest migration rate and i was right. In conclusion this fact relates to our study of migration push and pull forces and how they affect every day life in a country. Aslo,  how they affect your choice to leave or go to another country.
  • Religions practiced in the united states: Protestant 46.5%, Roman Catholic 20.8%, Jewish 1.9%, Mormon 1.6%, other Christian 0.9%, Muslim 0.9%, Jehovah's Witness 0.8%, Buddhist 0.7%, Hindu 0.7%, other 1.8%, unaffiliated 22.8%, don't know/refused 0.6% (2014 est.)
    • This fact Shows how the United states has a big pull force for migration. The U.S has a huge pull force of freedom of religion. This relates to how the united states has a fair amount of migrants entering the country. This fact interests me because it amazes me how many religions their are just in the U.S. , and i did not even know some of these existed. This is an important fact because it displays the reason why the U.S. has a fair amount of immigrants and the a major pull force of the United States. 
Population pyramids 

  • Afghanistan: the population will rise rapidly because their is a large amount of children at the base of the pyramid. 
    • I was correct.
  • Algeria: The population will grow slowly because their is a fair amount of children at the base of the pyramid and a fair amount of women of child bearing age.
    • I was correct 
  • Argentina: The population will grow rapidly because their is a very large number of kids, teenagers, and women of child bearing age.
    • I was correct. 
  • Aruba: The Population will decrease because their is a small amount of children at the base and a large amount of women who will most not give birth.
    • I was correct.
  • Austria: Population will decrease because there is very few children and a majority of  women between 50 and 59 who will probably not give birth.
    • The population will increase a bit. Then start decreasing, so i do not know if i was right but i think i am.

Greek Architecture

This is the temple of Hera the Greek goddess of marriage and queen of the gods in Olympia . It was built in 590 and is believed to have been built with wood and replaced with stone later. The temple has 16 columns and  was destroyed by an earthquake in the fourth century.  This is a sculpture of Athene in the Parthenon. You can tell it is her by her shield with a snake on it and an owl at her side. She is the patron Goddess of Athens and the Parthenon was partially built to honor her. It was mainly built to establish Athenians and Greeks s great architects and built them a reputation for that  during the beautification of Athens.
