Mesopotamia review

Today we went over the quiz review for our test Wednesday. I was made fun of twice and i admit i warranted the first once, but the second one just out of no where.

military insulation- Tigris
silt- soil left behind from a flood
Gilgamesh- great flood
paleolithic age- old stone age
neolithic age- new stone age  advanced tool making agriculture
modern day countries is fertile crescent- Iran, Iraq, turkey, Jordan
Hammurabi's code- 1st set of laws created, 282, stone plaques all around city state

Rome song

Today we listen to a educational parody about Rome. It was really funny and not what i had expected. I had just woken up when i listened to it and i did not know my volume was up so the song defiantly gave me a wake up call. I started laughing and ended up spitting out my water. I am not certain you were on the recording but it sounded like you on a lot of parts. I can completely imagine this playing in class like the Euphrates/Egypt song.

Greek Architecture

This is the temple of Hera the Greek goddess of marriage and queen of the gods in Olympia . It was built in 590 and is believed to have been built with wood and replaced with stone later. The temple has 16 columns and  was destroyed by an earthquake in the fourth century.  This is a sculpture of Athene in the Parthenon. You can tell it is her by her shield with a snake on it and an owl at her side. She is the patron Goddess of Athens and the Parthenon was partially built to honor her. It was mainly built to establish Athenians and Greeks s great architects and built them a reputation for that  during the beautification of Athens.
