Athens plague VS. Corona virus

The sickness in Athens was brought from a foreign land by ship, just as the Corona virus was brought to America from China on a cruise ship.  The Athenians were stuck together in close quarters which made the plague spread faster, but we independently isolating ourselves from each other in order to decrease the spread of Corona virus. The plague symptoms were fever, red inflamed eyes, Diarrhea, and violent ulcers. The corona virus symptoms are fever, and stomach problems including diarrhea. dead bodies littered Athens, but know sick people are staying home and if they are in the vulnerable category they litter the hospitals. People do not walk around as if they were half dead know; we stay home and rest or go to hospitals for treatment. In Athens the plague lead to a corruption in morals values and standards, and in our society some people are going threw the stores and taking all the toilet paper, hand sanitizer, and soap that other people need. They are not thinking of others, but most people are thinking of others and helping who they can. The plague devastated 1/3 of the Athens population, but the corona virus is not nearly as bad in America or even globally.  Athenian democracy fell apart, but our government has not and will not fall apart from a little virus.

Greek Architecture

This is the temple of Hera the Greek goddess of marriage and queen of the gods in Olympia . It was built in 590 and is believed to have been built with wood and replaced with stone later. The temple has 16 columns and  was destroyed by an earthquake in the fourth century.  This is a sculpture of Athene in the Parthenon. You can tell it is her by her shield with a snake on it and an owl at her side. She is the patron Goddess of Athens and the Parthenon was partially built to honor her. It was mainly built to establish Athenians and Greeks s great architects and built them a reputation for that  during the beautification of Athens.
