Mercator maps (ab)

• used in schools, for transportation,for sailing
• topography map- shows RD.'s, MT.'s, all cities and states (even smallest ones) (could zoom out to show a bit less detail)
• curved line of lat. and longitude - looking at a little part of the map
• gets size wrong of countries
• closest to the equator the countries get countries get smaller, poorest countries nearest the equator

Peters map (c)

• correct size of countries
• more accurate 
• as you go up on the map the longitude and latitude space between each lines gets smaller 
• you could flip it and it would still be accurate

psychology

• we could flip the peters map so Australia was on top but no one would bc. its weird  
• Me make countries bigger then they are and they become more important to us 
• if countries are on the top they are more important to us- why America is on the top left hand corner and bigger then some European countries they aren't realistically bigger than
